Clin-e-cal was short-listed for the Tech4Good award 2020 and rated 79% by The Organisation for the Review of Care and Health Applications (ORCHA). Clin-e-cal will use the investment to progress commercialisation of the Clip-Tone Buddy, scale its sales activity, and optimise the company's marketing, regulatory and legal aspects.

Clin-e-cal was founded by a Clinician and researcher in artificial intelligence and device design who specialises in the treatment of Medical Retina disease. He is a Doctor of Philosophy in Computing Applications from Heriot-Watt University, for which he was awarded the Mac Farlane prize. His first doctorate was in Ophthalmology from the Oxford University. He has over 100 peer-reviewed publications, predominantly as lead author. He has also been instrumental in developing the first revenue generating product of the company, Rafi-tone. The CEO is a PhD scientist, having commercial and scientific acumen. She has previously managed several early-stage commercial projects through her roles within the University of Manchester, especially in the Life-sciences and medical device sector. The Lead Developer is a software programmer, skilled in working for regulated and start-up companies. He is responsible for refinement and development of the Sound Response engine in Clin-e-cal. However, no information could be established regarding a Head of Marketing and Finance in the company as both will be hired in the near future.
