Homegrown was formed to address the fundamental imbalance in the residential development market.  Which is to build more homes in the UK, help SME developers fund developments and help investors get better returns, by giving them the opportunity to buy shares in properties.  Investment terms are between 18 – 36 months with a minimum investment of £500.

The platform has a fully integrated straight forward and transparent process. Each property has to meet the platforms strict investment criteria and due diligence.  The property is set up as an SPV which enables lenders to become a shareholder in a UK limited company.  A personalised dashboard is provided on the platform for lenders to monitor each investment and includes performance data, a timeline of key events and details of any shareholder votes.  Returns are paid directly into the lender's e-wallet where funds can be withdrawn or reinvested.

They operate a straight forward fee structure which includes a one-off 5% fee on funds successfully raised on each investment and a 15% net profit share.
