Coconut is an online accounting and tax tool for self-employed people. Given that the self-employed population in the UK is around 5 million, the company aims to become the go-to financial management application in this sector. Recently, Coconut opened up its accounting and tax platform to anyone with a current account or credit card from a list of 20 different UK banking partners. This collaboration allows users to see crucial information such as expense management and tax categorisation, invoicing and tax, amongst other data within minutes, which is a significant improvement from the time-consuming procedure followed by traditional cloud accounting products. In the last 12 months, Coconut has grown to 25,000 registrations. The company will use the investment to grow its business across different verticals.
