Money & Co

Money & Co is a peer to peer lending platform that offers flexible business loans from £50k up to £3m for working capital. They connect SME businesses that are looking for a loan with lenders who are looking to maximise returns on their capital.

This platform uses a loan bidding system, where the lender can bid from £10 per loan until the auction closes.  Thus giving the lender the opportunity to spread their risk over multiple loans.  Once the auction closes funds will be distributed on a monthly bases to the lenders. They also have an auto lend function which will automatically spread the invested monies across a range of borrowers.

Payments are made monthly and consist of both capital and interest payments.  Interest is calculated daily on a reducing capital balance. Money & Co charge a 1% servicing fee to the borrower, this is taken as the repayments come in, therefore the platform takes the same risk as the lender if the loan defaults.

How do Money & Co manage risk?

A debenture charge is taken over the borrowing company’s assets and not a personal guarantee.  A debenture is a way of asserting a claim over assets if things go wrong.

All the borrower's finances are checked and given a credit rating by Money & Co this then will determine the risk and rate set for that opportunity.

Secondary Market

The platform operates a secondary market where loans or loan parts can be sold.  A fee of 0.25% applies to all sales.  There is no guarantee that the lender will be able to sell their loan and is dependent on another investor purchasing the loan or loan part
