Investing In An Alternative Finance Platform
Share this article:

Ever fancied investing in an alternative finance platform? Well if you have you should definitely get in touch with businessagent.com, but you may also find the news that investly, a peer-to-peer lending platform is looking for investment on Seedrs of interest. The platform is seeking £500,000 to help fund expansion and currently has £323,00 committed.

But it isn’t all good news in the crowdfunding space. RideLink, an airBnB like service that matched car owners with people who wanted to rent their cars, has announced it is closing less than a year since it raised over £1 million from more than 500 investors on Seedrs. As you may imagine investors aren’t happy and are threatening legal action which has forced Seedrs into action of its own. The platform has promised to “investigate the fundraising” according to reports in the Times. As regular newsletter readers will know here at businessagent.com we regularly call for more transparency from the equity crowdfunding platforms, it seems some investors are starting to call for more too.

In the peer-to-peer (P2P) space the big news of the last week was that P2P lender Growth Street has pledged to inject £20 million into Welsh businesses over the next year. This follows a pledge last year to direct £50 million to SMEs in the Midlands. The platform targets sectors like manufacturing and professional services as well as regions where it believes small-and-medium sized enterprises (SMEs) are underserved.

Have you seen the new P2P pages at businessagent.com? You can now compare platforms with ease. It has been designed with users in mind so please take a look and let us know what you think.
