The Stem was founded by a finance industry professional who faced mental health challenges and found relief by spending time with nature. He now aims to help others by making plants more accessible through his online retail platform established in 2019. Apart from managing the organisation's overall governance, he specialises in private equity, data analysis, corporate finance, and risk management, which provides financial support to the company. However, little information was available on his experience in the gardening or retail sectors. The Head of Marketing is passionate about nature and food and has led several British and European companies' marketing campaigns. She is proficient in customer service, research, event management, and management. The company has currently employed a Junior Buyer who overlooks the product development and will be hiring a Head Buyer as the Lead Product Developer post fundraising. In her previous organisation (Debenhams), the Junior Buyer was honoured as 'Employee of the Month’ for successfully leading and winning a competition for the store. The Communications Manager is a communications specialist who can build client as well as team relations. She is adept at public relations, press releases, event management, and media relations. As part of its sustainability campaign, the management team has successfully planted 6,160 trees with Eden Reforestation Project and raised £1,008 for the Mental Health Foundation. They have also successfully reduced CO2 emissions by 1,875 kg as Christmas Trees were collected and recycled (free of cost) by converting them into wood chip.
